Course runs across four days during the September school holidays from 9:00am until 2:00pm. Course cost $330 for the four days. The youth sail in boats for 20 hours of UN-structured learning with qualified Yachting Australia Instructors & Assistant Instructors - all equipment provided and no sailing experience needed.
OutThere Sailing is an Australian Sailing program aimed at getting 13-17 year olds active on the water. Humpybong Yacht Club provides qualified Instructors and a variety of exciting activities including Sailing, Paddle Boarding and Powerboat experiences, so that you can get out and have fun with friends safely from the very first session.
Youth participants should wear clothes and shoes that can get wet and bring a dry set to change into after the class. Bring a hat and towel and make sure the kids have on plenty of sunscreen because the sun can be quite harsh on the water. A packed morning tea, Lunch and water bottle is also essential. The club provides lifejackets and all boats and equipment for the classes.
The OutThere Programme is offered by Humpybong Yacht Club as an OutThere Sailing Centre serving the northern suburbs of Brisbane and the Redcliffe area.
Overview
This is an OutThere Sailing combined course (a combination of OutThere Sailing 1, 2, 3). The combined course enables individual progression accross its duration, whilst allowing friends to remain together.
OutThere Sailing will always be about fun, social engagement and safety.
Prerequisites
Water confident.
Who should do this course?
This course is designed for participants who are 12-17 years-old looking to try a new activity, have some fun and engage with others whilst sailing.
Course Outcome
By the end of the OutThere Sailing combined course, the participants will achieve the standards of either OutThere Sailing 1, 2, or 3 and have had a lot of FUN with friends!
