Humpybong Yacht Club are hosted the Australian Formula 18 Catamaran Nationals 2015 from 23-26 January 2015. In conjunction with our club sponsor, the Belvedere Hotel, we delivered a regatta they will remember for years to come!

Event Details
Registration commenced on Thursday 22nd January 2015, with some travelling from as far away as Tasmania and Western Australia, and overseas crews from Hong Kong and New Caledonia. With 12 races across 4 days over the Australia Day long weekend this was an exciting event.

At 5:30pm on Sunday night the competitors gathered at the Belvedere Hotel’s Seaspray Room for a sumptuous dinner. Presentations took place on the Monday at the conclusion of racing.

About the Formula 18 Catamaran
The F18 Catamaran is an international class designed to a box rule. Because of the popularity of catamarans following the recent America’s Cup the class is full of Olympic, America’s Cup and world champions who race alongside the father-and-son teams, mixed crews and a sprinkling of grey nomads, all of varying talents.
