Level 1 and 2 cla sses are offered on a casual basis on Sunday mornings between 8:30 and 10a m. You can do your sessions every week or spread them out over a few month s. We will keep a logbook of your experiences and hours.

Contact t he club on discover@hyc.net.au to register for a course. Once you are regi stered you just need to email the club before 6pm on the Friday before you intend to attend a Sunday class. This is so that the club can organise th e right number of instructors and boats for each Sunday.

Course DescriptionThe A ustralian Sailing Race Officer Seminar is a half day seminar for Club leve l\, aimed at educating people who wish to become involved with the officia ting aspect within the sport of Sailing. Race Officers play an important r ole within sailing\, conducting racing at clubs\, and enabling organised p articipation and competition .
Pre-Req uisitesThere are no pre-requisites for participation in this se minar. However\, attendance at the AS Race Officer Seminar is just one asp ect of becoming a Race Officer. For more information on how to achieve a C lub\, State or National Race Officer accreditation\, please contact your l ocal Australian Sailing Club Support Officer.
Course OutcomesParticipants of the AS Race Officer Semi nar will receive a Certificate of Completion. To become a recognised Race Officer\, participants will need to complete an application form and submi t the necessary paperwork to accompany their application to Australian Sai ling.
Who should do this CoursePeople who have a keen interest in Sailing and want to participate in another facet of the sport. Those who may be interested in becoming a Race Officer include parents who may have limited experience with sailing and want to contribute to the sport\, volunteers at yacht clubs and sailors wh o no longer actively participate in the sport.
