After the the extreme conditions we experienced last weekend at the Laser States, this weekend is looking positively benign. We are expecting ENE winds from 6-12kts.
We have a round of the Autumn Series to make up but as it is likely that a number of Cat sailors will be sailing away from HYC this weekend we will defer that to another date and continue with the S***box program. We have a handicap schedule prepared and if we can complete the necessary equipment preparations we will run with the handicap format.
We are going to need a couple of volunteers to man the rescue boats. Peter and the Cat guys have been doing that while the mono sailors have been practising up for the Laser States. We now need a couple of the Laser guys to stand up to give the A Class guys some time on the water in the long preparation for the Nationals and the Worlds to be held at Hervey Bay.
See the start of the Brisbane to Gladstone close up
On another note; is there anyone out there that would be available to man Big Duck with me as a marshaling boat at the start of the Brisbane to Gladstone on Good Friday? You will not get any closer to the start unless you are competing.
