The link to the amended sailing instructions for the Club Championships is here:
After discussions with sailors and the Committee, the Sailing Committee has decided to amend the Sailing instructions to c clarify the rule. relating to change in crew and to make the course a little safer to cater for less experienced sailors and to make course laying easier for the race management team
9.1 Substitution of competitors or crew will not be allowed during a race day without prior written approval of the race committee.
Boats may not change crew once racing has started on any one day without approval. However, they are allowed different crew from one day to the next. This allows skippers the opportunity to use reserve crew member (s) rather than DNS through no fault of their own; i.e. crew members going away for work or sickness.
We have decided to remove the gates at the bottom of the course and force all boats to round the mark to port. This not only reduces the number of marks the race management team has to prepare and set, but it also avoids the potential for Div 3 and 4 boats tacking away from the gate into high speed cats on a reach. It will also reduce the speeds of all boats at the mark
The forecast for Sunday is looking great. 10 kts at 12 when we start going up to 14 kts by 4. Should be no chop and that wind is coming from the northeast. See you at the briefing.
