After last year’s highly successful program the Sailing Committee has decided to continue the theme for this year’s championships. The only difference is that we have formally incorporated the Winter series into the program and weighted each series equally.
The four season series, each consisting of 12 races raced over four set dates with alternate dates allocated should the weather try to defeat us, make up the Championships. Awards will be made as per last year for the winners of each division for each of the series.
The club championship will be determined for each division by allocating low scores according to the place a boat finished . Scores will be added up for all series and the worst score dropped. Foe example; if you scored a 1st, 2nd, 2nd and 1st in the season series your total score is 6 with the worst score of 2 dropped; your championship points will be 4.
This system rewards those boats that regularly participate but also recognizes the fact that not everyone can be down there each weekend.

We are seeking more volunteers so that we can get as many sailors on the water as possible. The Club will be continuing last years program of accredited training hope to make it a bigger and better experience through more formal training. We are also looking at opportunities for volunteers to participate with bigger events and Clubs. If you know of anyone that would like to spend a day or so out on a boat once a month;, drag them on down or get them to call David on 0402 422 447. Alternatively we will have to roster sailors on for the occasional weekend – not our preferred solution.
It all kicks off this weekend and the forecast is looking great. See you there for the 11 o’clock briefing
